Hot Hot Hot

So as temperatures in DC pushed over the 100 mark, we tried our best to stay cool!

Although we did manage another early morning trip to the Tastee (indoors this time):



Then we came home and played with some of the boxes that are starting to appear around the apartment as we slowly but surely get packing:



And then tonight, after her bath, she was looking quite radiant - so we couldn't resist another photo session!

As July slips by..

...Juliet continues to thrive. Every day she's just a little bit stronger, a little bit more co-ordinated, and a little more determined! Here are a few pictures from yesterday and today. She can crawl pretty much anywhere she wants to go now (and does!) and has been making solid progress towards pulling herself up and standing. She's almost always smiling though - and sees challenges as opportunities (Oh wait?! What I want is way over there?! Time to go get it!). It's a truly beautiful thing.

It's a Tastee Diner Saturday!

So we got up this morning and headed up to the illustrious Tastee Diner (since 1935!) in lovely Silver Spring, Maryland. A classic diner in the best sense of the word, they have delicious coffee, really good pancakes, and some nice tables in the shade.

Juliet loved watching the people at the next table and our waiter! Ms. Daisy, who's been working there for 23 years came by to say hi as well - "I know all the babies," she said "I just love them!"

Kathy's Visit and Afterschool Adventures

Kathy came to town last week and we had a lot of fun! But somehow whenever we went out - we always forgot the camera.

This afternoon, after Juliet got home from school, we practiced crawling and exploring. She's getting really good at moving around!

Hey baby, it's the Fourth of July!

So it was a hot and humid Fourth of July weekend here in DC! We spent part of the weekend in Leesburg, Virginia enjoying the country air and friendly people. Then back home for a few more days of relaxation! We didn't manage to take very many pictures in Virginia, but here are a few from the hotel pool on Saturday afternoon!
