Easter Afternoon - The Backyard & Beyond

After we got home and had a bite to eat, first we took a minute to dunk some baskets on her new Easter present - a basketball hoop!

Then we headed out to the backyard to play! Juliet loved helping out with the shovel! Then we got out a bucket of water and played with the cats!

And Ben managed to put in some brick edging to the vegetable garden. Here are some pictures of the garden (to compare with later in the summer)!

And then helped Mom shuck some corn and make a delicious dinner tonight!

Easter Morning - The Great Easter Egg Hunt After Church

So it was gorgeous Easter morning here - warm, the sun shining! We took a walk down to church (about 2 miles) and afterwards there was a hunt for the kids in the grass. Once she figured out the point - to pick up the plastic eggs and put them in the bag - she really got into it.

Gym Time!

So during the week Karen and Juliet went with some friends to the Prince George's County Rec Center to play with their gym equipment for little ones. Juliet loves the blocks and playing with the other kids!

Last weekend - Dying Easter Eggs and James and Ashley's Wedding

So last weekend we decided to get a headstart on Easter and dye some eggs! It was a lot of good, messy fun.. and the eggs came out pretty nice too!

Then on Sunday we went out to a gorgeous spot outside of Leesburg Virginia, in the shadow of the Shenandoah mountains and celebrated with James and Ashley as they got married! Juliet loved running around outside and the pre-dinner dancing.

We had a blast with Jim and Sara over the weekend. Juliet warmed up to them quickly, and we all spent hours walking through the zoo, Kenilworth Park, and Wheaton Regional Park.

We had fun seeing the growing new lion cubs running around their enclosure. It was too cold for the new anteater pup to be on display, so we'll be visiting again soon to try and catch a look-see of Pablo.

Oh, and I made a new friend.

Jim, Sara, Juliet, and Ben strolled the mud flats of Kenilworth Park on Sunday morning. Beautiful.

And then the exciting trip to Wheaton Regional. They have a grand old carousel, a miniature train, and hiking galore. And we also did some snuggling!
